Mainframe Systems Programmers (z/OS | IMS | CICS | DB2)

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Mainframe Systems Programmers across multiple specializations to support, maintain, and optimize mission-critical IBM z/OS enterprise environments.

We currently have 7 open positions across four core mainframe tracks:

1. Mainframe z/OS System Programmer (3 Openings)
2. Mainframe DB2 Systems Programmer (2 Openings)
3. Mainframe IMS System Programmer (1 Opening)
4. Mainframe CICS System Programmer (1 Opening)

Core Responsibilities & Requirements by Track

1. Mainframe z/OS System Programmer

• Key Skills: z/OS installation, upgrades, PTFs, APARs, RSUs, and IPL processes.
• Tools & Tech: PARMLIB, PROCLIB, SYS1 datasets, RMF, SMF, SDSF, JES2/JES3, USS, and RACF.
• Automation & Ops: Automation using System REXX, CLIST, SA z/OS, or NetView; scheduling via CA7 or Control-M.
• Note: Requires willingness to support weekend maintenance and IPL activities.

2. Mainframe DB2 Systems Programmer

• Key Skills: 7+ years mainframe experience with 3–5+ years focused on DB2 for z/OS.
• Core Tech: DB2 replication (QRep, SQLRep, CDC), ZPARMs, buffer pools, BSDS, catalog, and directory.
• Architecture: DB2 Data Sharing, Sysplex, Coupling Facility, HA/DR, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and SDSF.

3. Mainframe IMS System Programmer

• Key Skills: 7+ years z/OS experience with hands-on IMS DB and IMS TM administration.
• Core Tech: DBD, PSB, and ACB management; IMS control regions and transaction processing.
• Ops & Admin: Buffer pool tuning, performance optimization, utilities, backup/recovery, DR strategies, RACF, and Sysplex architecture.

4. Mainframe CICS System Programmer

• Key Skills: Hands-on CICS Transaction Server administration on IBM z/OS.
• Core Tech: CICS upgrades, PTF application, maintenance, DFHSIT, and system initialization parameters.
• Performance: Region configuration, transaction response time analysis, CPU utilization, and storage tuning.

General Mandatory Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience in enterprise IBM z/OS mainframe environments.
• Proficiency in JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and system troubleshooting logs/dumps.
• Experience supporting high-availability and disaster recovery (DR) environments.
• Willingness to work onsite 3 days per week at one of the approved locations (Chandler, AZ; Plano, TX; Charlotte, NC; or Jersey City, NJ).
