Job Title

Registered Nurse – ICU (Med Surg ICU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | 2 out of 3 major holidays or as needed based on unit needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Med Surg ICU setting serving adult and pediatric patients (15 years and older) with diagnoses including respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, GI bleeds, and cancer-specific surgeries
• Titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics
• Manage and monitor invasive lines and devices including CVPs, A-lines, Swans, EV-1000, and ICP monitoring
• Read and interpret cardiac telemetry using Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry; no monitor techs on unit
• Collaborate with attendings, fellows, and residents to deliver high-quality, team-based patient care
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, excluding Maternity/NICU

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current NIHSS certification required
• Ability to pass a unit-specific open-book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher during orientation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with CRRT, Impella, or intra-aortic balloon pump
• Familiarity with neuro interventional procedures or thrombectomy programs
• Experience with hypothermia protocols and rapid transfusion devices
• Strong critical thinking skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach to patient care
