Financial Specialist

Make an impact supporting the National Institute of Health! Lynch Consultants is seeking a Financial Specialist with a solid understanding of budget formulation and execution, financial analysis, and CIO Management Support Services (CMSS). This is a role for someone who is ready to take on meaningful challenges and make a measurable difference. Work Location and Schedule This position is located in Rockville, MD. Associatesare required to be on-site at least 2-3 days per week. Required Qualifications – Must Have MUST have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MUST have at least 6 years of relevant financial management or analytical experience. MUST have intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Power BI, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial formulas. MUST have experience developing financial models and performing budget variance and trend analysis. MUST have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data. MUST have strong written and communication skills, including experience preparing reports, briefings, and presentations for leaderships. MUST have the ability to obtain and maintain an NIH Public Trust background investigation. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a federal government contracting environment. Familiarity with NIH, HHS, or broader federal government financial management processes and policies. Experience with Power BI, or similar data visualization and reporting tools. PMP certification or equivalent project management credential is a plus. Experience supporting budget formulation and execution within a government environment. Skills Budget formulation and execution, including tracking obligations, expenditures, and projections. Preparing of monthly financial status reports, executive briefings, and PowerPoint presentations. Data analysis and reporting skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
