About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years minimum License: Active Nursing License required Certifications: AWHONN Beginner/Intermediate, BCLS, FHM, NRP Must-Have: - Labor and delivery experience - Experience in LDRP or couplet care - Ability to circulate in the OR for C/S deliveries - Experience in mother-baby and labor and delivery Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in Mother-Baby, Couplet Care, and Post Partum. The nurse will provide care for both the labor and delivery and postpartum populations. Responsibilities include assisting with high-risk deliveries and providing newborn care. Experience in intravenous therapy and phlebotomy is required. The professional will participate in medication administration including anticoagulants and magnesium sulfate therapy. The nurse will support breastfeeding and provide discharge education to parents. Knowledge of fetal monitoring and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns is essential. Pain management skills for epidurals and general anesthesia are necessary. The role includes responsibilities for postpartum care, including monitoring for hemorrhage and supporting recovery. Isolation precautions and vaccine administration awareness are also important aspects of this position. The unit consists of LDRP rooms, observation rooms, and triage rooms, providing comprehensive care for patients. The position may require floating to different areas based on unit needs. Weekend shifts are required, and flexibility to accommodate scheduling changes is expected. All RNs must be comfortable handling various aspects of labor, delivery, and postpartum care. The unit has the necessary equipment and support to ensure patient safety and comfort.
