About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Registered Nurse – North Carolina**Start Date:** October 12, 2026 **Location:** Asheville, North Carolina **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** 12-hour shifts; every other weekend required; rotating days/nights

Highlights:

• Unit Focus: 40-bed cardiac progressive care unit treating patients with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post-cardiac procedures (cath/stent, pacemaker, ICD, ablation)
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 standard ratio; 1:5 during stretch staffing situations
• Technology & Equipment: Cerner EMR, Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, bladder scanners, and lift equipment
• Collaborative Team: Work alongside charge nurses, bedside RNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries in a supportive, team-oriented environment
• Floating Opportunities: May float to medical-surgical units, stepdown units, emergency department holding, and other areas as needed
• Professional Development: Relief charge nurse opportunities available for qualified candidates

Requirements:

• Active RN license in North Carolina (or eligible for licensure)
• Progressive care or stepdown experience required
• Telemetry monitoring experience required
• Demonstrated proficiency with titratable and cardiac IV medications including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, Bumex, and Lasix
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with prostacyclin medications (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) strongly preferred
• Flexible, positive attitude with strong compassion and teamwork skills
