What we're looking for:
We need someone with 5+ years of experience writing technical content for developer audiences who has a published portfolio of work that has genuinely traveled - pieces engineers share with each other, threads that hit the front page of Hacker News, or an audience you built yourself. You should be deeply plugged into the developer ecosystem (Hacker News, X, Reddit, Discord) and comfortable interviewing engineers and translating complex infrastructure concepts into compelling, opinionated stories. Bonus points if you have experience in Developer Relations, engineering-adjacent journalism, or creating content across multiple formats including video and conference talks.
What you'll do:
- Build and own the content engine from scratch - establish the cadence, formats, and editorial strategy so a reliable stream of high-quality technical content ships without falling on engineers and founders.
- Write technical guides, benchmarks, deep dives, comparisons, and customer case studies for the marketing site that earn organic search visibility and AI-engine citations (AEO).
- Design launch playbooks by working closely with the Product team and founders to craft announcements, docs-adjacent explainers, and demos for multiple 0-to-1 product launches this year.
- Turn customer wins into stories - interview engineering teams who cut their CI times by an order of magnitude and write content that other engineers naturally draw parallels to in their own work.
- Repurpose and compress technical content from engineering blog posts into snackable formats for organic social (X, LinkedIn) and broader distribution.
- Draft organic social content for brand handles, tailoring voice and length to each platform while maintaining technical credibility.
- Write and maintain landing pages and product documentation (~20% of the role), ensuring docs-adjacent content tied to feature launches is technically accurate and developer-friendly.
- Bring ideas to the table - maintain a pulse on the CI/CD, DevOps, and developer tools market and proactively pitch content that will resonate with the developer community.
