General Manager – Aftermarket Operations (Lansing, MI)

Responsible for all aspects of MRO operations and delivery at Pratt & Whitney Aftermarket Operations, Lansing, MI.

Key Responsibilities

• P&L Ownership: Plan and manage financial decisions; manage revenues, budgets, costs, evaluate risks and make strategic decisions; analyze business results using key performance metrics to determine financial health, efficiency, productivity.
• Business Performance: Maximize site performance and profit by leveraging product portfolio, capabilities, customer needs and industry demands; analyze business results using key performance metrics such as sales, EBIT, OTD, TAT, CPH, NITO, CAPEX and MFA.
• Strategic Planning & Execution: Plan and execute short- and long-term strategy and operational direction; evolve product portfolio and technical capabilities; expand capability and capacity to support shop forecasts and fleet demands.
• People Leadership: Manage, lead, coach and empower 6–8 senior functional leaders to drive business objectives; maintain positive relationship with the bargaining unit; guide decision‑making and critical thinking; promote learning and development; support talent development and succession planning.
• Safety & Health: Prioritize and ensure a safe, healthy and compliant workplace; report injuries and hazards; promote safety culture, safe work practices, wellbeing and situational awareness; enforce Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) policies.
• Quality: Deliver safe, high‑quality products and services; enforce quality cardinal rules and policies; encourage employees to raise concerns and speak up.
• Customer Service: Build and maintain favorable relationships with customers, vendors and partners; meet customer commitments and communicate timely.
• Culture: Cultivate a workplace culture rooted in Safety, Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration and Innovation; ensure compliance with export control requirements and the code of conduct.
• Continuous Improvement: Employ and leverage process improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies to optimize processes and encourage technological innovation aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications – Must Have

• Advanced degree with 12+ years of experience in military, manufacturing, business operations/management, engineering, supply chain, aerospace or aftermarket; OR bachelor’s degree with 14+ years relevant experience.
• 6+ years of personnel management experience, ideally within a bargaining unit/union workforce environment.
• Advanced business knowledge and strong financial, business and technical acumen.
• Experience leading P&L with cost, budget, project management and delivering financial performance.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma, QCPC, RCCA).

Qualifications – Prefer

• Degree in a STEM field; engineering, supply chain or management preferred.
• Operations experience in aftermarket aerospace or overhaul and repair (MRO) industry.
• Proven ability to lead self‑directed work teams across multiple functional disciplines.
• Knowledge of Pratt & Whitney shop practices, quality standards, processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and DOT/FAA regulations, ideally within a Part‑145 repair station.
• Experience using MS Office Suite, SAP ERP, Solumina MES and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, MS Teams).
• Excellent presentation and communication skills at all levels of management, shop personnel and customers.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $186,200 – $353,800 USD. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, holidays, and potential incentive compensation programs.
