Travel RN – Medical/Surgical (Nights)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Medical/Surgical unit serving an adult and geriatric population
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:6, delivering care for conditions including COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, sepsis, and end-of-life/hospice care
• Operate and monitor equipment including Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and PCA pumps
• Document and manage patient records using the Cerner EHR system
• Float as needed to surgical, neuro, and intermediate units, accepting Medical/Surgical-level patients
• Work every other weekend as part of the standard schedule

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact State license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with Cerner EHR
• IV competency required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing

• Charge nurse experience
• Strong team-player mentality with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Experience as a patient advocate in high-acuity Medical/Surgical settings
