Market Manager - FoodserviceThe Market Manager - Foodservice is a key member of the Copeland Global Cold Chain team with a focus on creating and driving the Cold Chain market strategy for the Americas Foodservice and adjacent markets. The Market Manager acts as the internal expert on market trends, dynamics, and customer needs. This role is pivotal in defining where to play by translating market insights into actionable strategies, investment priorities, and long-term growth opportunities aligned with business objectives. The Market Manager is responsible for market segmentation, analyzing market size and growth rates, and developing strategies to drive solution development comprised of Copeland compression, controls, and enterprise software offerings. They also lead market research, maintain the Copeland market model, and assess competitive, industry, and regulatory trends to inform cross-functional teams.As the Market Manager/Senior Market Manager, you will:Develop and deliver the Copeland Business Strategy Plan, including market sizing, key trends analysis, and competitor insightsCreate market roadmaps to guide product and solution development across compression, controls, and enterprise software servicesIdentify M&A opportunities and develop strategic roadmapsConduct value assessments to support value propositionsGather and analyze Voice of Customer insights to understand market challenges, customer needs, and regulatory impactsMonitor competitive strategies and end-user requirements to influence specifications and market strategiesDefine market segmentation, targeting, and prioritization to guide resource allocation and strategic focusTranslate market insights into clear growth initiatives and align cross-functionally (Product, Portfolio Marketing, Commercial teams) to drive executionEmbed Market intelligence into planning cadences (e.g., AOP, strategy reviews) to ensure decisions are data-driven and alignedKPIs:Market growth and share vs. planRevenue and profitability by marketDelivery and execution of 5-year market strategyM&A pipeline quality and successAdoption and impact of market insights in business decisionsRequired education, experiences & skills:Minimum five years of experience in market research, strategy development, or a related fieldProven leadership and communication skills with success in aligning cross-functional teams to execute market strategiesAdvanced proficiency with data analysis tools, market modeling platforms, and visualization tools for market sizing, segmentation, and performance trackingStrong analytical and problem-solving skills rooted in data-driven decision-making and strategic planningA relentless pursuit of excellence and a strong desire to build agile systems that support commercial and operational excellenceDeep commitment to ownership, continuous learning, and taking proactive steps to improve business outcomesBachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, economics, engineering or a related fieldAbility to travel 20-30%Preferred education, experiences & skills:Master's degree in marketing, business administration, economics, engineering or a related fieldAdvanced knowledge of market segmentation, competitive analysis, and growth strategy developmentExperience in identifying M&A opportunities and developing strategic roadmapsDeep understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and regulatory impacts on business strategyFamiliarity with Voice of Customer (VoC) methodologies and toolsKnowledge and previous work experience in the Cold Chain – Foodservice industry or related experience with Copeland compression, controls, and enterprise servicesWhy Work in the Greater Miami Valley AreaOur facility is located in Sidney, OH conveniently located within driving distance to several larger cities, such as Dayton, Troy, and Columbus. The cold chain business helps ensure that food safely and efficiently travels from farm to fork. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions.
