Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse position is based in a Magnet designated acute care hospital located in Belleville, Illinois. This role involves providing advanced patient care in a specialized ICU setting during night shifts. The candidate will be responsible for managing critically ill adult patients, assisting with various procedures, and adhering to hospital protocols to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); Illinois or compact state nursing license in hand at the time of submittal; at least 2 years of ICU experience; current practice within adult intensive care patient population; and good charting skills using Epic system.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in open heart, post-cardiac surgery, or clinical procedures such as line insertion and intubation; familiarity with hypothermia protocols, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP).
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Open to schedule flexibility: No, not accommodating block schedules; candidates must adhere to scheduled shifts.
• Additional Information: The role requires float within scope to various units including intermediate care and ICU, with competencies to practice across these settings. The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration and uses EPIC for charting.
