A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available in an inpatient hospital setting with a census of 131 beds, supporting 60 to 70 active beds. This contract-to-hire position is located in Baton Rouge, LA, and offers a dynamic work environment where your expertise will contribute directly to patient care.

The facility utilizes Epic for order entry and Pyxis automation systems to support medication management. Shifts include Monday through Friday with two options—7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM—with rotating weekends to provide comprehensive pharmacy coverage.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services in an inpatient hospital environment
  • Review medication orders for safety, accuracy, and appropriateness
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication regimens
  • Utilize Epic for electronic order entry and documentation
  • Support medication dispensing through Pyxis automation
  • Participate in rotating weekend shifts as scheduled

Qualifications:

  • Active Louisiana pharmacy license required
  • Experience in an inpatient hospital pharmacy setting
  • Exposure to Pyxis automation preferred; training is available
  • Familiarity with Epic order entry advantageous; training provided
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills
