RN PreOp PACU

PreOp/PACU RN USPI Pearland Surgery Center is seeking a motivated PreOp/PACURN to join our team. We have 2 main OR rooms and 2 endoscopy rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Orthopedic, ENT, Urology, Colorectal, General, Plastic, Pain Management, Podiatry, GI Endoscopy. Candidate needs to be available Monday‑Friday and one Saturday a month based on staff rotation. Schedule is subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of day. Candidate must be available for some early mornings and later evenings. Position requires weekdays only and one Saturday a month based on a staff rotation – no holidays or call. Some later evenings required. Job Summary The Pre-Op/PACU RN has the responsibility to plan, direct, organize, coordinate and implement all nursing care services for the pre‑op and post‑surgical patients in a manner consistent with our mission statement. They participate in the development of patient plan of care to include patient problems, goals, evaluations and interventions. This care includes monitoring heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and respiration, as well as managing the pain and nausea that often follow anesthesia. They may have additional responsibilities as designated by the Clinical Director, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, and participating in quality improvement audits and projects. Required Skills Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current Texas Nursing License Current BLS and ACLS required Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Pre‑Op/PACU (Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred) Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient Understanding principles of aseptic technique and their implementation Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.
