Goodwill Industries--Knoxville, Inc. is seeking a full-time Assistant Retail Store Manager for our Emory Square store. Ideal candidates will be energetic, flexible, have excellent customer service skills, reliable transportation and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Summary Responsible for assisting the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the retail facility. Supervises staff and community service workers, etc. in the absence of the Store Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support daily store operations and team leadership (6 months – 1 year experience) Deliver outstanding customer service Help drive sales, merchandising, and donation processing Train, motivate, and inspire team members Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming shopping environment Assist with achieving store goals and performance standards Competencies Retail leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Positive attitude with a passion for helping others Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Interpersonal Skills Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; Listens to others without interrupting; Keeps emotions under control; Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things. Oral Communication Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions. Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently punctual and at work on time. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
