Associate General Counsel

Schneider is seeking an Associate General Counsel in Green Bay to provide leaders with legal advice to help them implement practical business solutions. The Associate Corporate Counsel will assemble and examine the available facts and select the best solution possible. Responsibilities include examining facts, identifying legal risks, and recommending the best solutions to Schneider leaders. The role also involves formulating and testing hypotheses drawn from limited evidence and speculation to identify and recommend solutions. Additionally, the position requires monitoring matters with legal implications for consistency with company and operating guidelines, simplifying and appropriately communicating legal matters and analyses to business leaders, and working with various departments to facilitate compliance with federal and state regulations. The Associate General Counsel will draft and negotiate business contracts, assist with the negotiation of acquisition or divestiture of businesses, the purchase or sale of property, and the negotiation of contracts and proposals. Developing and providing engaging legal education and training for the company is also part of the role.

Skills and qualifications include a Doctor of Law, admission to practice law in Wisconsin, a minimum of 6 years of experience as a practicing lawyer, and prior in-house experience is preferred. Background in transportation, human resources, finance, accounting, or a heavily regulated industry is preferred. The candidate should be able to plan, organize, and prioritize a wide variety of tasks at once, with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment.
