Production Supervisor Job Description

We are a 24/7 operation, so schedule flexibility is very important. You will be assigned a primary shift and possibly asked to assist on other shifts as needed. Night and Day shifts are available.

Responsibilities: (Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following)

• Manage manufacturing employees daily activities to include performance reviews and disciplinary actions
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the shift with constant emphasis on safety, quality, delivery and cost
• Makes recommendations for improvements to create efficiency, reduce costs, eliminate issues, and achieve resolution
• Monitor production activities to eliminate waste and ensure adherence to production and shipping schedule
• Work with other team members to control and improve efficiencies, minimize labor overtime, downtime and repair expenses
• Control load factors and workflow to ensure maximum use of available capacity and effective use of labor, tools and equipment
• Maintains a safety culture and cultivates safe behavior through development and monitoring of safety standards.
• Optimizes materials, schedules, and the WIP flow through the production and assembly lines to ensure a high on-time delivery rate to our customers.
• Oversees all individual and machine performance reports to guarantee effective operations and adherence to standards.
• Works in the best interest of the business by making decisions that reflect the company's core values.
• Assists in reporting absenteeism and time keeping.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them.
• Enters, transcribes, records, stores, or maintains information in written and/or electronic form.
• Identifies the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, and or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge and or skills.
• Performs day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files, time cards and processing paperwork.
• Inspects equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors and or other problems or defects.
• Responsible for monthly safety training of crews, the orientation of new employees

Major Physical Demands

• Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with frequent walking.
• Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 20 lbs. to 75 lbs. Crain Hoists are available.
• Walking: Frequent walking of short distances (approx. 200 feet or less).
• Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 20 lbs. to 75 lbs. Crain Hoists are available.
• Bending: Frequent bending and crouching required to complete assembly tasks.
• Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
