Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Bone Marrow Transplant unit requiring oncology experience and central line/mediport proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit of a hospital setting
• 13-week contract assignment
• Shift runs 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Floating required as needed per unit policy

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact license currently in hand (temporary licenses not accepted)
• Current BLS certification required
• Oncology Certified Nurse (ONC) certification required for all RNs working in Oncology
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• Oncology and cancer care experience required
• Experience with mediports, PICCs, and central lines required
• Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Administer chemotherapy and perform central line and mediport access with lab draws
• Perform CHG baths including care of central lines and dressings
• Follow all facility protocols for temperature monitoring, chemotherapy administration, and infection control
• Navy scrubs required for RNs
• Clean, neat appearance required including hair, nails, and minimal visible tattoos or piercings
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
