Technical Interior Designer - Vandelay Companies About the Role The Vandelay Companies Technical Interior Designer is responsible for translating creative design concepts into accurate, comprehensive construction documentation for new restaurant developments, renovations, and capital improvement projects. Working closely with the Director of Design and Development, this role ensures that every project is thoughtfully designed, technically sound, and executed in alignment with brand standards, operational needs, and project timelines. This position requires a detail oriented professional with a strong understanding of restaurant design, construction documentation, building systems, and coordination with architects, consultants, and contractors. Responsibilities Technical Design and Documentation Develop detailed interior construction drawing sets for new restaurant locations, remodels, and refresh projects Produce plans, elevations, finish plans, millwork details, furniture layouts, and interior detailing Maintain and update construction documents throughout all phases of design and development Coordinate revisions resulting from field conditions, permitting, value engineering, and operational feedback Ensure all drawing packages are complete, accurate, and construction ready Design Coordination Collaborate with the Director of Design and Development to implement design standards across multiple restaurant concepts Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle Assist in material selections, finish schedules, FF&E specifications, lighting, and signage coordination Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations to improve efficiency Maintain prototype drawing sets and continually improve company design standards Project Support Assist in managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting project milestones Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and material samples for design compliance Conduct field verification and site visits as needed Support permitting and construction administration efforts Assist in identifying cost saving opportunities without compromising design intent Brand Standards Ensure consistency across all Vandelay Companies restaurant concepts by maintaining design standards and documentation Help develop and maintain interior finish libraries, material standards, and specification manuals Support the evolution of existing brands while maintaining design integrity Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or related field, required 3 to 7 years of technical interior design experience Experience in hospitality or restaurant interiors preferred Strong knowledge of construction documentation and detailing Understanding of building codes, ADA requirements, and construction methods Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits available Generous Paid Time Off Career advancement in a rapidly growing hospitality brand Exclusive dining privileges and discounts across all Vandelay Hospitality Group concepts Vandelay Companies provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, or any other federal/state protected category. #J-18808-Ljbffr Vandelay Companies
