divh2Scrap Room Technician/h2pOperations/ppReports to: Production Supervisor/ppEmployment Status: Regular, Full-Time/ppFLSA Classification: Non-Exempt/ppShift: 2-2-3/ppLocation: USA Olyphant, PA (greater Scranton, PA Area)/ppTravel: 0%/ppPosition Summary: B Crew 7am-7pm/ppThe Scrap Room Technician is responsible for the unloading, receiving, and processing (SAP Goods Receipt) of all inbound aluminum coils. They are responsible to deliver the coils to the line for consumption as well as removal of all dunnage and packaging materials following processing. This person is also responsible for handling all of the processing of scrap materials in the scrap room. This includes, but is not limited to, weighing, processing (SAP BOL creation), and loading scrap onto trucks for outbound shipment./ppEssential Functions/Key Deliverables/pulliInspect the technical condition of the Forklift and other material handling equipment before starting work to determine the need for repairs to safely operate machinery./liliRecord pre-use checks in the provided system or the vehicle logbook as required./liliOperation of large industrial lift truck (approx. 80,000lbs capacity)./liliReport any faults and/or breakdowns of the equipment to Production Supervisor./liliUnload, receive, and prepare all inbound coils for processing./liliDeliver coils to the point of use i.e. coil handling equipment located in production area./liliDispose of all packaging materials and dunnage in a timely and efficient manner./liliRemove all recyclable materials from production floor each shift and process through proper waste stream./liliWeigh, process, and load scrap bales onto trucks in preparation for shipment./liliPreventative Maintenance of equipment i.e. check oil level in balers, housekeeping, greasing, filter changes./liliCommunicate any needed repairs or work requests via the plant work order system./liliUse SAP to receive inbound materials and create BOLs for outbound shipments./liliPrioritize work in order to support production and ensure uninterrupted plant operation through on-time delivery of raw materials and efficient removal of process scrap./liliTransport materials to the production department complying with FIFO procedures./liliClean Fork-Lift-Trucks and other handling equipment in accordance with ISO and BRC standards./liliAssist with the implementation and maintenance of CP systems, including performing internal audits as required./liliSafely exchange fork truck gas cylinders, refill fuel tank, or replace, re-charge batteries (whichever applies)./liliPerform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role./li/ulpKnowledge/Skills/Experience/ppEngineering or Technical Degree preferred./pulliPrevious forklift experience highly preferred./li/ulpAbility to operate a forklift is required./ppAbility to read and write English./ppAbility to perform basic math functions./ppA basic working knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft Office, SAP./ppAbility to function both independently and as part of a team; must be flexible and excited to grow with the organization./ppPhysical Demands (This needs to be reviewed/revised)/ppLift/Carry 10 lbs or less F 11-25 lbs F 25-50+ lb- OPush/Pull 10 lbs or less F 11-25 lbs F 25-50+ lb- OStand C Walk C Sit O Manually Manipulate O Reach Outward O Reach Above Shoulder O Climb O Crawl N Squat or Kneel F Bend F/ppOther Physical Requirements Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth) Sense of Sound - Ability to understand conversational speaking Sense of Touch Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - per safety guidelines Mobility to cover expansive manufacturing environment/ppWork Environment Ability to work in an environment that can become very hot (temperature) depending on the weather./ppReasonable Accommodations Statement/ppTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
