School Cafeteria Server/Cashier - Part-Time

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner Caterers is hiring a friendly, dependable Cafeteria Server/Cashier to join our school lunch team!

This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with children, providing friendly customer service, and having a consistent weekday schedule that follows the school calendar.

POSITION DETAILS

• Starting Pay: $14.00 per hour, paid weekly
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
• Position Type: Part-time
• Work Calendar: School days only; excludes school holidays and summer break
• Location: Dallas and Mesquite area schools; exact assignment discussed during the interview process

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up the serving line and prepare for daily lunch service
• Serve meals to students, teachers, and school staff
• Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately process lunch sales and preorders
• Prepare and assemble meals according to established portions and procedures
• Stock, label, and date food and supplies
• Record food temperatures and follow food safety requirements
• Clean and sanitize workstations, serving areas, and equipment
• Communicate with team members and management throughout the day
• Provide friendly, patient service in a busy school cafeteria environment
• Occasionally assist at another school when coverage is needed; mileage reimbursement is provided

QUALIFICATIONS

• Friendly, dependable, and comfortable working with children
• At least one year of customer service and/or food service experience preferred
• Able to work well as part of a team
• Reliable transportation required
• Must pass a background check
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
• Food Handler or Food Manager Certification preferred; courses can be provided if needed
• Able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds
