Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a hospital Surgical Services position requiring BLS, CST certification, and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

Hospital-based Surgical Services department supporting General OR and Ambulatory OR cases

Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM

May occasionally float to the Hospital Outpatient Department (HOPD/ASC) on the same campus

Call required approximately 4-5 days per month, including weekends

Supports a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, ENT, general surgery, gynecology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, robotics, thoracic, and urology procedures

Requires experience with an electronic charting system

Requirements

HS Diploma or GED required

Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or military training as a scrub tech

BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required

CST certification required (NBSTSA); license required if applicable

Minimum of 1 year of recent relevant experience

General knowledge of surgical tools, procedures, and equipment

Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology

Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

Assist surgeons in a variety of surgical procedures to ensure quality patient care

Establish and maintain sterile fields, including sterile tables, tools, and patient draping

Select, prepare, and inspect supplies and equipment for each surgical procedure

Maintain a clean, neat, and safe operating room environment before and after procedures

Perform clerical duties such as updating patient electronic health records and documenting supply inventory

Maintain strict confidentiality of patient health information in compliance with facility and regulatory standards

Local candidates accepted at the local rate within a 50-mile radius

Returning staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract
