Minimum Qualifications :

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years' experience in operating, maintaining and repairing heavy lawn care equipment and irrigation systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Holds a valid driver's license and has reliable transportation to/from work.

Primary Job Function:
To perform grounds keeping and maintenances tasks to maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment conducive to the educational process.


Performance Responsibilities :

• Maintains a healthy and safe environment of all exterior areas of the High School campus, including sidewalks, parking lots, grass and shrub areas, and athletic fields.
• Maintains all areas of the grounds in a condition that is conducive to their intended use, including mowing, trimming, seeding, irrigation, and chemical applications as required.
• Performs maintenance tasks as required to assure a safe, healthy and efficient environment for the students and staff, including trash and debris pick-up, snow removal, and salt applications.
• Performs repairs and preventive maintenance on grounds equipment; arranges for major repairs through the High School Maintenance Foreman as necessary.
• Maintains the irrigation systems including proper winterization measures and watering schedules.
• Prepares the competition fields and surrounding areas as required for scheduled competitions, including painting any required field markings.
• Assures that the athletic fields are cleaned and free of debris before and after all competitions in conjunction with custodial operations.
• Follows all other directives from the High School Maintenance Foreman and the Director of Buildings and Grounds that serve to improve services to the students and patrons of the Crown Point Community School Corporation.
