Senior Business System Analyst

The Senior Business System Analyst will be responsible to collect business requirements and system specifications from internal and external customers, process mapping, RFP specifications, gap analysis, and develop project schedules from design to release. The successful candidate will possess a strong business analysis background to lead design sessions, communicate with stakeholders, and extract business logic from people, systems, and existing documentation. The Senior Business System Analyst will be responsible to capture and build documentation work products including, but not limited to, functional specifications, fit-gap analysis, requirements, process maps, test approach with supporting scripts, and training plans with supporting manuals. As Senior Business System Analyst you must be able to adapt, thrive, and navigate to succeed in an MBTA environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.

Responsibilities: General

• Work under the direction of IT Senior Project Manager who is in the process of rolling out a new Time and Attendance System
• Collaborate closely with Operations Senior Leadership to elicit and formalize business processes, procedures, business use cases/stories, and training requirements needed to support the Attendance Process overall
• Manage requirements gathering and fit-gap analysis sessions by scheduling, conducting, and facilitating with business stakeholders.
• Ensure business engagement throughout the project to foster quality work products and stakeholder confidence and trust.
• Develop clear and concise functional specifications, process maps, test plans, test cases, test scripts, training plans, and training manuals in a timely manner.
• Access and use work management tools to collaborate and document work products, including but not limited to Microsoft Teams, Visio, PowerPoint, Service Now, Asana.
• Respond to each inquiry, whether from a customer, supplier, or co-working in a courteous and professional manner.

Attendance Process Adoption

• Point of contact and documenter for the new Attendance System.
• Documents Functionality Improvements or adjustments
• Defines Reporting or Analytics required by Operations or Labor Relations etc.
• Sign off on any new requests for expanded area scope of escalated privileges (e.g. - regular Supervisor to Division Chief with expanded access)
• Documents typical Use Cases and Operational Procedures for the Attendance Process
• Adoption and Usage Compliance of the new system and processes (e.g. - Are all Supervisors using the tool consistent with Policy expectations)
• Owner of Supervisor user experience
