Patient Access Representative

The University of Miami UHealth - department of Patient Access at the UHealth campus in downtown Miami has exciting opportunities for Patient Access Representatives. The Patient Access Representative projects a professional and welcoming demeanor and welcomes visitors to the department by promptly greeting them, in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring their inquiries appropriately.

Core responsibilities include serving as a patient advocate and service ambassador, performing all on-site patient access registration related functions promptly, complying with all established UHealth policies and procedures related to Patient Access and State/Federal regulations, identifying and collecting patient's self-pay responsibility, and performing other duties as assigned based on departmental needs.

Core requirements include a high school diploma, relevant experience, excellent verbal and written communications skills in English, critical thinking, analytical, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and customer service skills, excellent mathematical and cash management skills, knowledge of medical terminology preferred, ability to work as an integral team member under minimal supervision, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to use multiple systems and acquire proficiency in the following electronic systems: UChart Cadence/Prelude/Enterprise Billing, Passport HealthWorks Compliance Checker, Availity, RIS-PACS, CaneCare, UMCare, Intellidose, MCSL, Experian and all online verification systems used by contracted payors.
