Recreation Assistant

Location Voorhees, NJ Department Therapeutic Recreation/Child Life Position Summary Responsible for assisting in the design, planning, and implementation of recreation/play activities in order to meet the needs of the pediatric residents. Activities include entertainment, intercommunication, exercise, relaxation, and opportunity to express creative talent and fulfill basic psychological, social, and spiritual needs, which will be available to all residents barring restrictions and limitations. Encourages the further development of skills through activities based on the child’s current cognitive, motor, and sensory levels with the consideration of the child’s social, cultural, and religious needs. Activities can be provided in a group or individual setting, in resident rooms, playroom, therapy room, or outside. Facilitate activities both within VPF and within the community to stimulate and promote resident interest and general well-being, and enhance developmental milestones. Functions as an integral member of the TR/CL Department and Interdisciplinary team. Schedule Full Time, 40 hours per week; Mon 9:00am-7:00pm, Fri 8:30am-6:30pm, Sat 8:30am-6:30pm, Sun 8:30am-6:30pm. Compensation $16.00 per hour.
