About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Robot Technician to support autonomous sweeping robots operating overnight (11:00 PM – 6:00 AM) in outdoor environments. This role focuses on routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinating with our engineering team to ensure optimal robot performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on autonomous sweeping robots (weekly service required per site).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in collaboration with remote engineers.
• Respond to maintenance alerts during operating hours (overnight) and coordinate timely site visits.
• Use hand and power tools (e.g., Allen wrenches, drills, Dremels, multimeters) to repair and service robots.
• Clean and service robots, including removing debris, dust, or jams from sweeping components.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with the engineering team regarding status and repairs.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with remote teams.
• Hands-on experience (e.g., handyman, technician, mechanic, or similar background).
• Comfortable working with mechanical and electrical systems (robotics experience not required).
• Willingness to work in outdoor environments and get hands dirty when needed.
• Familiarity with tools such as drills, wrenches, and multimeters is preferred.
• Ability to respond to nighttime service notifications when required.

Work Structure

• Technicians will be assigned a set of locations (“sites”) within their region.
• Each site requires weekly preventative maintenance (typically 1–2 hours per visit).
• Example: Servicing 4 sites = ~4–8 hours/week minimum.
• Schedule is coordinated with the team but offers flexibility .

On-Call / Support Process

• Robot issues may occur during operational hours (11 PM – 6 AM).
• Technicians will receive a notification (text/on-call alert) .
• You’ll confirm your availability and coordinate a repair window (before midnight EST / 9 PM PST).
• A remote engineer will assist you during the troubleshooting process.

Compensation

• $30/hour (flexible/negotiable based on experience).
• Guaranteed minimum hours based on scheduled preventative maintenance.

Location Requirements

• Must be located near assigned service area to ensure quick response times.
