Position Title:Certified Athletic TrainerPosition Type:Full timeScheduled Weekly Hours:40Categories:Staff ExemptJob Summary:Bucknell University, is looking for our next Assistant Athletic Trainer to join our Department of Athletics and Recreation. As a member of the NCAA Division I (FCS in Football) and the Patriot League for 23 of 27 varsity sports, we are looking for a candidate who will be responsible for the administration of injury/illness prevention, recognition, evaluation, management, treatment, and rehabilitation for student-athletes participating in the intercollegiate athletics program. Additionally, this position enforces health care policies and procedures regarding medical insurance, and completes physical examinations. The successful candidate will follow risk management processes and communicates with parents, coaches, health care professionals, administrators, faculty, staff, and student-athletes.Job Duties:Reporting Relationship:Reports to the Associate Athletic Director for Sports MedicineWork Setting/Schedule:Primarily on-campusMust be able to travel with the team for competitions as necessaryRequires night and weekend availabilityWhat You Will Do:Provides healthcare for assigned teams to student-athletes within the Bucknell Department of Athletics by attending competitions and practices, including traveling with teams to away competitions, through injury/illness prevention and immediate care, examination, assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention of all athletic related injuries.Oversees student-athletes related to rehab for athletic-related injuries to return to sport participation. This includes assessing the nature of their injuries (range of motion, strength, etc.) and making referrals to physicians as appropriate.Performs administrative duties related to insurance, medical history and medical care and follow up for student-athletes. Assists with supplies, schedules, communications and health and safety recommendations.What You Will Bring:Required:Bachelor's Degree in athletic training or a related fieldBOC Certified for Athletic TrainersMust possess a State of Pennsylvania License or be State of Pennsylvania License eligiblePreferred, But Not RequiredMaster’s DegreeCompleted the national certification exam & are eligible for state licensure1-2 years collegiate athletics experience preferredAthletic training experience in an NCAA Division I program is preferredPhysical RequirementsWork involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noisesModerate physical activity.
