Apply for more details and a tour of our new facility.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's ageDemonstrates knowledge of nursing process - assessments, interventions (including pain management, reassessment, management and patient/family education regarding pain), etc. under the direct supervision of a RNCoordinates and supervises patient care as necessary. Provides leadership and oversight of Mental Health Technicians. Is able to delegate and follow up on assignmentsFunctions as a patient and family advocate at all timesDemonstrates the ability to identify patient behaviors that require intervention. Continuously observes significant behaviors, actions and activities of the patients. Documents observations in the patient's charts, reflecting implementation of the treatment plan. Reports any unusual occurrencesPerforms all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errorsConsults other departments and the treatment team as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needsDemonstrates ability to perform treatments and provide services to level of licensure. Knowledgeable of medications including psychotropic drugs and their correct administration based on the age of the patient and their clinical conditionFormulates and implements patient treatment plans; family is included when appropriate. Ability to revise treatment plans as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluates overall plan daily for effectivenessPossesses the skills of verbal de-escalation and able to avoid power struggles with patients. Sets limits for patients. Ability to provide trauma informed care to all patients and familiesMaintains a good working relationship within the department and with other departmentsCommunicates appropriately and clearly to patients, families, and team members. Treats everyone with respect and dignityDocumentation meets current standards and policiesMaintains fit for duty. Acts in a professional manner and follows all of Parkside policies and proceduresOrients new staff members to the unitDemonstrates the ability to be organized and flexible, acts appropriately in stressful/emergency situations. Able to provide Handle with Care when neededDemonstrates administrative skills such as phone etiquette, organization of medical records, and general office tasks.
