Community Donation Manager

Description The Community Donation Manager position averages 45 hours per week and is a non‑exempt role, during and after the formal training period. What you’ll be working on Accountable for the overall management and direction of the Community Donation Center (CDC) operations, upholding company standards, regulations, and laws, while promoting brand awareness and fostering community relationships. Donation Center Operations Ensure CDC is organized, clean, safe, and welcoming; maintain donation flow, storage, and staging. Partner with the Production Manager/Store Manager to manage donation flow from the CDC to production. Engage customers and donors to promote the Savers brand. Ensure donations are accurately weighed, classified, and accounted for. Plan, track, and measure donation goals and results. Use the CDC Scheduler and Daily Planner to schedule Ambassadors per volume and traffic. Utilize approved branded materials to promote the Savers brand. Leverage Voice of the Customer Program to improve donor satisfaction. Perform CDC Ambassador duties as required. Leadership and Development Lead, direct, and supervise CDC Ambassadors. Plan staffing needs; recruit, select, and train new Ambassadors. Interact, train, coach, and counsel Ambassadors; provide recognition, feedback, and address complaints. Develop a culture of appreciation for donors, ensuring fast, friendly, respectful service. Identify and develop high‑potential team members for future supervisory roles. Serve as a role model and maintain a respectful, values‑driven workplace. Act as an active member of the management team. Donor Service Deliver a positive donor experience through training, coaching, and role‑modeling expectations. Continuously assess donor areas and direct team activity to meet standards. Engage donors for feedback and respond to questions, requests, and complaints. Educate store team on Savers’ brand and business model. Promote awareness of non‑profit partners, joint brands, and community impact within the store. Drive company promotions and grassroots efforts to raise community awareness of the CDC and Savers brand. Partner with the Sourcing team to lead or assist in Fundrive events. Network within the community to share the Savers story. What you have Excellent presentation skills. Mathematical skills. Strong verbal and written communication. Ability to observe, assess, and coach others. Common sense application of written and verbal instructions. Reasoning, decision‑making, and independent judgment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience High School diploma; post‑secondary degree/diploma preferred. Experience managing people preferred. Physical Requirements Must frequently lift and carry products Frequent reaching to inspect merchandise and train/counsel team. Dexterity for complex hand‑eye tasks (keyboarding, writing, merchandise pricing). Continuous standing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting; occasional kneeling. Frequent reading of written and electronic documents. Continuous hearing and verbal communication for interaction. Exposure to hazardous machinery, solvents, microwave, dust, temperature fluctuations. Will need flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays. Must navigate industrial machinery and heavy equipment safely. FLSA Non‑Exempt Travel Periodically drive to meetings or other stores for business purposes.
