Job Opportunity: Emergency Medicine Physician Fellowship

Our organization is actively seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician to join our esteemed fellowship program in the Department of Emergency Medicine. We are excited to introduce a one-year fellowship focused on Global Health in Emergency Medicine.

We take pride in having established the first global emergency medicine fellowship program in the United States. Our department is dedicated to various initiatives, including medical missions, physician-exchange programs, and long-term development projects that emphasize advanced education and training for both physicians and nurses. Our residents participate in international electives twice a year, and our faculty includes several members who are fellowship-trained in global health. This is a thrilling time to engage in global emergency medicine, as numerous countries are beginning to acknowledge emergency medicine as a recognized specialty, paving the way for international collaboration.

Our recent focus countries include China, Vietnam, Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, Puerto Rico, Egypt, and Mozambique. We are passionate about training in emergency medicine residency and are currently supporting the establishment of two new residencies in Uganda and Mozambique. Our strategic partnerships with organizations worldwide, along with faculty collaboration with the World Health Organization on emergency referrals for maternal and neonatal health, enhance our global outreach.

Fellows will be expected to engage in three months of global exposure throughout their fellowship year, participating in projects aimed at enhancing the skills necessary for a successful career in global health.

The starting base salary for this position ranges from $203,000 to $213,000, excluding variable compensation or additional productivity bonuses, and is subject to the department's compensation plan. Detailed discussions regarding compensation will occur during the recruitment process.
