Registered Nurse (RN) - Community & Developmental Services

Location: Arlington Heights, IL (60004)


Salary: 80k-90k USD

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Full-Time, 40 hrs/week)

On-Call: One weekend per month

About the Opportunity

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse ready to step away from the physical toll and unpredictable shifts of hospital acute care? Our client, a dedicated adult living community in Arlington Heights, is seeking a compassionate RN to oversee clinical care and health management for residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

This role delivers a rare balance in nursing: a meaningful, clinical-leadership focus with predictable, Monday-through-Friday daytime hours and zero heavy physical lifting.

Key Responsibilities

• Resident Health Management: Direct clinical oversight, routine health assessments, and care plan coordination for adult residents.
• Staff Training & Compliance: Deliver state-approved (DHS) medication administration training and ongoing clinical guidance to direct support staff.
• Interdisciplinary Support: Act as the primary clinical resource for facility caregivers and external healthcare providers.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely medical records and regulatory documentation.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

• Licensure: Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Clinical Experience: Solid bedside nursing background with sharp clinical judgment and triage skills.
• Specialized Knowledge: Prior experience supporting individuals with IDD is highly preferred (or a strong desire to serve this population).
• Communication: Clear verbal and written skills for staff training, family communication, and care coordination.
