Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity focuses on a clinical pharmacy role with specialization in sterile compounding, providing critical support to infusion pharmacy patients in a dynamic healthcare environment. The position requires a thorough understanding of regulatory compliance, clinical pharmacy practices, and leadership capabilities to ensure safe and effective medication management.
Schedule and Location:
- Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Located in Alachua, FL
- Travel position with a 13+ week contract to hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders accurately.
- Perform and oversee sterile compounding activities in adherence with USP <797> and USP <800> standards.
- Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations to ensure medication safety and efficacy.
- Review medication profiles to assess for allergies, drug interactions, appropriate dosing, and compatibility.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff in compounding practices.
- Maintain cleanroom integrity through proper aseptic techniques and environmental monitoring.
- Participate in quality assurance programs, medication safety initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement activities.
- Document compounding batches, quality checks, and regulatory compliance meticulously.
- Assist with inventory management including controlled substances and general pharmacy operations.
- Contribute to pharmacy policy development, procedural updates, and staff education.
- Actively engage in staff meetings and professional conferences.
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing is required.
- Minimum of one year experience with hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding following USP <797> , USP <800> , DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and mentor pharmacy team members effectively.
