Our organization is actively looking for a full-time faculty member in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition, specifically someone who is board certified or eligible in transplant hepatology.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated faculty member who has completed a fellowship in transplant hepatology to join our Vanderbilt Hepatology and Liver Transplant Center.

Our Liver Transplant Program ranks among the largest in the nation, conducting a significant number of liver transplants annually. Located in the vibrant city of Nashville, our transplant hepatology and surgery teams maintain a collaborative and supportive environment.

The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition is committed to delivering exceptional medical care for individuals with liver and gastrointestinal disorders, training future gastroenterology and liver transplant fellows, and engaging in innovative biomedical research to enhance our understanding of digestive and liver diseases. Our division comprises over 60 full-time faculty members, including both research and clinical specialists.

Position Details:

Title: Assistant or Associate Professor

Track: Clinician-educator track.

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Delivering patient care in both general hepatology and transplant hepatology clinics.
• Sharing responsibilities for the inpatient hepatology service alongside 10 other transplant hepatologists.
• Conducting endoscopic procedures primarily for hepatology patients.

Please note that this role does not include coverage for GI services or GI consultations.

Academic Opportunities:

Engagement in teaching medical students, residents, gastroenterology fellows, and transplant hepatology fellows is encouraged. Clinical research initiatives are fully supported.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a Medical Doctor degree.
• Completion of a gastroenterology fellowship.
• Eligibility for a medical license in the State of Tennessee.
• Board certification or eligibility in transplant hepatology.
• Possession of a DEA registration.
