Role Description The Collections Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Solon, OH. The person in this role will contact consumers and clients by phone and other approved channels to resolve past-due accounts and negotiate payment arrangements in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Daily responsibilities include reviewing account information, updating records, documenting interactions, and processing payments or payment plans accurately. The Collections Specialist will also answer questions, address concerns, and provide clear, professional communication to support positive customer experiences. This role works closely with team members and leadership to meet collection goals, follow compliance guidelines, and contribute to overall department performance. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Debt Collection and Cash Collection skills, including negotiating payment arrangements and managing past-due accounts in a compliant manner. Candidates should possess excellent Communication and Customer Service skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally and maintain respectful interactions. Candidates should possess basic Finance knowledge, including understanding account balances, payment schedules, and related financial terminology. Relevant skills such as attention to detail, accurate data entry, and proficiency with computer systems and call-center software are beneficial. Prior experience in collections, call center environments, or accounts receivable is preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
