Kurt J. Lesker Company is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of large‑scale electronic equipment and machinery used in vacuum systems . This role applies core electrical engineering principles to deliver safe, reliable, and manufacturable designs using computer‑aided engineering tools and design software. This role demonstrates strong proficiency in electrical design concepts , practices, and procedures , and works to plan and execute project tasks within a low volume , high variability manufacturing environment.

• Location: Jefferson Hills, PA 
• Division: Process Equipment Division
• Reports To: Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and detail electrical components and systems for safe, reliable equipment operation
• Design electrical power distribution systems for vacuum and process equipment
• Design and document equipment control systems
• Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) in the corporate ERP system
• Perform prototype assembly, wiring, testing, and validation of components and sub‑modules
• Execute cost‑effective engineering improvements to reduce the cost of existing components
• Support engineering projects to meet schedule, cost, quality, and performance targets
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
• Occasional domestic travel may be required
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of electrical design experience
• Strong CAD experience (electrical drawings and schematics)
• Proficiency with industry compliance codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, UL, and CE

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AutoCAD or other 2D drafting software
• Design experience supporting automated or industrial equipment
