Maintenance Mechanic | 1st/2nd Shift | Food Manufacturing Keep Production Running in a Leading Food Facility

We’re hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to support a growing, state-of-the-art food manufacturing operation. In this role, you’ll handle preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of automated systems—helping ensure safe, efficient production in a fast-paced environment.

• Pay: $25-40/hr
• Shift: 1st and 2nd shift
• Overtime available
• Location: Waukegan, IL (fully onsite)

• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
• Diagnose and support PLC systems and control components
• Maintain and repair motors and 3-phase electrical systems
• Work with sensors, actuators, and automated equipment
• Ensure all maintenance meets safety and industry standards (GMP environment)

Maintenance professionals with strong troubleshooting skills

• 5+ years of experience in:
  • Industrial maintenance OR
  • Manufacturing OR
  • Food production environments

Experience with mechanical systems (hydraulics & pneumatics)

Ability to read blueprints and schematics

Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail

• Electrical troubleshooting experience
• Knowledge of low-voltage circuits
• Experience with PLCs, automation, robotics, or controls
• Mechatronics or trade school
