Meet the facilities needs of the Colorado State University Pueblo customers. Manage available resources to provide a physical environment at the highest quality possible. Total Facilities are approximately 1.5 million sq. ft. at multiple sites.

Colorado State University Pueblo is seeking applications for a Structural Trades II.
This position is only open to state of Colorado residents and is not eligible for employment-based immigration sponsorship.

Structural Maintenance and Repair
Estimate material usage and perform installation, maintenance, and repair of wall and ceiling systems and surfaces, including matching existing textures and paint colors when applicable through taping and texturing sheet-rock and plaster surfaces.
Repair walls and ceilings using like materials and complete finishing and painting of repaired surfaces.
Estimate, install, and repair vinyl and ceramic wall and flooring systems, ensuring proper surface preparation and substrate application.
Replace and re-glue vinyl and rubber cove base materials. Sand, strip, and stain natural wood finishes.
Perform minor concrete repairs, including patching cracks in sidewalks and foundations and sealing interior and exterior building surfaces.
Assemble furniture and repair office furnishings as needed.
Hang and anchor office and classroom materials, including whiteboards, paintings, and plaques, to walls and other surfaces.
Standards, Communication & Safety
Establish and maintain clear and consistent communication with project managers, architects, faculty, staff, students, and contractors regarding approved campus standards, color schemes, and graphic design requirements.
Oversee and maintain in-house material inventories, including paints, stains, adhesives, and supplemental stock, ensuring proper rotation, accurate tracking, and adequate supply levels to support current and upcoming projects.
Ensure compliance with all regulated safety protocols and University policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment, safe handling and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials, and participation in required safety meetings and training sessions.
Maintain adherence to Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements and coordinate with the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Supervisor to obtain current information regarding asbestos locations, restricted “do not disturb” areas, and other environmental considerations.
Perform all work in accordance with established regulatory, environmental, and institutional safety standards.
Preventative Maintenance Operations
Perform scheduled building checks at intervals designated by the immediate Supervisor, including preventative maintenance inspections of doors and hardware, safety and security components, roofing conditions, and residence hall facilities.
Develop, update, and maintain documentation establishing regular paint cycle intervals for campus areas on a three- to five-year schedule in alignment with campus standards and long-term maintenance planning.
Complete preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with established work order protocols and report deficiencies, safety concerns, or maintenance issues to the Supervisor for follow-up.
Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked shop areas, fleet vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials to support safe and efficient operations.
Ensure proper storage of equipment, maintain hazard-free workspaces, and organize materials to support daily operational and maintenance needs.
Operational Support and Compliance Duties
Provide support to Facilities Department units as needed, including electrical, electronics, mechanical, warehouse, grounds, and custodial operations.
Assist with snow removal operations during inclement weather and support building and property maintenance activities during sporting events, concerts, University functions, and other campus events.
Assist and advise outside contractors as necessary and participate in cross-training activities with other work units to expand operational knowledge and support departmental functions.
Coordinate work schedules and time availability with the immediate Supervisor and perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and campus operational needs.
Complete required State and University documentation within established deadlines, including accurate entry of daily work order activity into computer and handheld devices utilizing TMA time management and work order tracking software.
Attend required training sessions related to TMA system operations and ensure accurate data entry and work order documentation.
Verify that all building materials are processed through the University Warehouse Supervisor to support accurate accounting, departmental billing, and work order tracking.
Minimum Qualifications:

Four (4) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education, formalized apprenticeship program, and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to four (4) years.
