Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Operating Room (OR) RN for a 13-week travel assignment at Alaska Regional Hospital. The role involves providing specialized surgical nursing care in a fast-paced OR environment, primarily focusing on orthopedics, Total Joints, neuro, and robotic procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and facilitate surgical procedures as a circulator and scrub nurse, ensuring patient safety and smooth workflow.
• Provide patient advocacy and support throughout the perioperative process.
• Prepare and operate a variety of OR beds and surgical equipment, adhering to safety protocols.
• Document all surgical activities and patient information accurately in the EMR system.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain a sterile field and efficient operative environment.
• Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends and call shifts, to ensure 24/7 coverage.

Qualifications:

• Alaska RN license required for submission.
• BLS and ACLS certifications needed.
• Minimum of 2 years of OR nursing experience, with familiarity in orthopedics, neuro, and robotic surgeries.
• Experience as a circulator and in scrub roles preferred; CNOR certification is a plus.
• Strong teamwork, adaptability, and positive communication skills.
