Systems and Software Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead early defect detection and prevention strategies across software development.
• Define process-improvement methods to enhance software quality and reliability.
• Conduct software design reviews for architectural and quality-standard compliance.
• Support Failure Mode Analysis efforts to identify and mitigate software risks.
• Participate in engineering joint reviews and quality reviews.
• Improve software verification and validation processes with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze warranty, field, and test data to identify systemic software quality issues and drive corrective actions.
• Partner with suppliers and internal teams on software quality for infotainment, connected gateways, and telematics.
• Coach and train engineering teams on software quality practices, including ISO 26262 and ASPICE compliance.
• Develop and improve processes within the software quality organization.
• Communicate complex software issues to engineering teams and executive leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• At least 10 years of software engineering experience in the automotive industry, focused on quality, warranty analysis, or verification and validation.
• At least 10 years of systems and Design and Release engineering experience in the automotive industry.
• At least 3 years of experience with software defect detection and prevention methodologies.
• At least 3 years of experience conducting software design reviews for architectural and quality compliance.
• At least 3 years of experience with Failure Mode Analysis for software systems.
• At least 2 years of experience implementing and assessing ISO 26262 Functional Safety.
• At least 2 years of embedded software development experience with C/C++, AUTOSAR, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of ASPICE and software process assessments is preferred.
• Experience with DevOps, continuous integration, and automated software testing is preferred.
• Understanding of open-source software compliance and cybersecurity best practices is preferred.
• Experience with infotainment, connected gateways, or telematics is highly desired.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and training skills.
