About Sonny’s Farm: Sonny’s Farm is a regenerative livestock farm in Northwest Florida dedicated to producing the highest-quality, nutrient-dense food while prioritizing animal welfare, soil health, biodiversity, and sustainability. We raise 100% grass-finished Wagyu beef and lamb, pastured heritage pork, pastured chicken, and eggs. Our products are sold directly to consumers through our online store and farm pickup, as well as through partnerships with restaurants and local retailers. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Head of Distribution to take ownership of our distribution operations, including nationwide shipping, local wholesale fulfillment, inventory management, and coordination with our processing partners. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, has exceptional attention to detail, and is excited to build and improve the systems that support a growing business. Responsibilities: Oversee all daily distribution operations, including nationwide e-commerce shipping, local deliveries, wholesale orders, and farm pickup. Manage the entire order fulfillment process, ensuring accuracy, product quality, proper packaging, and timely delivery. Develop and continuously improve distribution processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain a high standard of customer service. Resolve shipping issues, fulfillment discrepancies, and other operational challenges as they arise. Inventory Management Take full ownership of inventory management across all product categories and SKUs, including beef, lamb, pork, chicken, and eggs. Oversee product intake from processors, ensuring accurate counts, proper labeling, packaging quality, and adherence to product specifications. Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure consistency between physical inventory and Shopify. Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies. Monitor stock levels, aging inventory, product availability, and freezer capacity. Coordinate with company leadership to forecast inventory needs based on production schedules, sales, and seasonal demand. Identify opportunities to minimize waste, improve inventory turnover, and optimize product availability. Processing & Product Quality Coordinate with our processing partners to manage processing schedules, product intake, and delivery logistics. Inspect incoming products to ensure consistency in cut specifications, packaging, labeling, and overall quality. Maintain organized records of processing yields, product quantities, and inventory received. Proactively identify and communicate quality concerns, discrepancies, or processing issues. Operations & Team Management Take ownership of the day-to-day organization and efficiency of the distribution facility, including freezer organization, equipment, and workspace management. Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for inventory, fulfillment, product handling, and distribution. Manage and coordinate distribution staff as the operation grows. Maintain proactive communication with farm management and company leadership, identifying operational challenges and opportunities for improvement. Implement systems and processes that allow distribution operations to scale efficiently as the business grows. The Successful Candidate Has prior experience in distribution, logistics, warehouse operations, inventory management, or a related field, preferably within the meat or food industry. Has a strong understanding of meat products, cuts, processing, packaging, and quality standards, or is eager to develop this expertise. Is exceptionally organized and detail‑oriented, with the ability to manage a large number of SKUs and multiple competing priorities. Is comfortable working with inventory management systems, e‑commerce platforms, and digital operational tools. Experience with Shopify and Asana is an advantage. Has excellent record‑keeping skills and understands the importance of accurate inventory data. Is a proactive problem‑solver who can anticipate operational challenges and take initiative without constant supervision. Is comfortable working in a fast‑paced, growing business where responsibilities and priorities may evolve. Has strong communication and interpersonal skills and can effectively coordinate with farm staff, processors, shipping carriers, wholesale customers, and company leadership. Is hands‑on and willing to participate in all aspects of daily distribution operations, from packing orders and organizing freezers to improving operational systems. Takes pride in maintaining high standards of product quality, accuracy, cleanliness, and customer service. Is excited about taking ownership of a critical part of the business and helping build the infrastructure necessary for continued growth.
