Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech)Under the direction of the radiologist, performs appropriate diagnostic exams and studies to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.Key Responsibilities:Administers ionizing radiation for the purpose of diagnosis which includes positioning the x-ray beam with respect to the patient, anatomically positioning the patient, selecting exposure factors, and initiating exposure.Uses professional judgment to adapt imaging procedures to ensure quality diagnostic outcomes.After reviewing all pertinent data and assessing the patients abilities and condition, selects the most appropriate patient care plan.Selects appropriate shielding devices and appropriate immobilization devices.Adheres to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) safety principle.Evaluates lab values prior to administering contrast media.Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure, such as medications or insufficient patient preparation.Reconfirms patient identification using two unique identifiers (Name and DOB) and verifies procedure requested.
