Our organization is a physician-led, accountable multispecialty group comprising over 650 providers, presenting a remarkable opportunity for a general non-invasive cardiologist.

Become part of a cardiovascular group practice with 20 physicians, integrated within our health system, providing care across the region, including telemedicine and outreach initiatives. The Heart Institute offers a comprehensive cardiovascular program featuring various unique services such as an accredited Chest Pain Center, a Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center, a Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery program, and a CVOR that performed over 400 procedures last year. Additionally, we have a growing cardiovascular research program, a dedicated Heart Failure Program, an advanced electrophysiology lab with Pulsed Field Ablation, a robust structural heart program (including TAVR, mTEER, tTEER, Watchman, PFO/ASD), and a specialized prevention and lifestyle management clinic. Cardiologists and cardiac surgeons collaborate with hospital administration to co-manage the cardiovascular service line.

Support for this role includes: 21 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs); 3 Cardiac Surgeons; 4 Vascular Surgeons; a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU); CVOR, CVICU, and a step-down unit; 74 primary and specialty clinic locations; and a health alliance network of over 1,800 employed and independent providers, along with a Level II Trauma Center and Emergency Department.

The clinic operates traditional hours from Monday to Friday. The chosen candidate will primarily work at the main campus in Boise, with outreach clinics scheduled one to two times monthly. Call responsibilities are shared fairly among physicians: general call (primary) is 1:7 (Boise hospital only), while interventional call (backup) is 1:5.

While skills in nuclear cardiology are preferred, they are not mandatory. Board certification in echocardiography is also desirable but not a requirement for this position. Skills in cardiac catheterization are not necessary.

To qualify for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
• Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency and fellowship in cardiovascular disease
• Board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Cardiovascular Diseases or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) with certification of special qualification (CSQ) in Cardiology, or the ability to obtain such certification within three years of employment
• A current, unrestricted full medical license in Idaho and Oregon
• Ability to obtain privileges at SARMC-Boise and other affiliated hospitals as required, along with valid controlled substance registration with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA
• Secure appropriate hospital medical staff privileges for procedures including electrocardiograms, heart monitors, echocardiogram interpretation, stress treadmill testing and supervision, stress echocardiography, defibrillator and pacemaker checks, as well as transesophageal echocardiography
• Nuclear cardiology skills are preferred but not required. Echo board certification is also preferred but not a requirement. Cardiac catheterization skills are not necessary.
