Overview As a member of the NPD Team, you will be responsible for delivering an extraordinary pipeline of new technologies, solving complex engineering challenges, and strengthening a high‑performing team. Exciting Things You’ll Get to Do Design and develop consumer products from initial concept through ongoing product support within our global development organization Collaborate daily with Engineering and Product Development teams to advance system understanding, performance levers, and trade‑offs Lead brainstorming sessions, build proof‑of‑concept prototypes, and conduct rigorous testing to validate ideas Guide a team of mechanical engineers, co‑ops, and interns, fostering a collaborative and results‑oriented environment See your products reach consumers on shelves, online, and via marketing channels Attributes and Skills BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering 5+ years of related experience in product design and development Proven ability to translate enabling technologies into market‑ready products Strong analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem resolution Hands‑on prototyping expertise (3D printing, machining, hand tools, robust assemblies) Experience with laboratory testing and instrumentation, conducting controlled experiments on manufactured designs Proficient CAD skills (SolidWorks or Creo) Data synthesis using Excel, Minitab, MATLAB, or similar tools for test data analysis Effective communication skills, able to articulate principles, data insights, and design impacts to both technical and non‑technical audiences Comfortable fostering professional relationships with colleagues In‑person role at our Needham, MA office (requires close team collaboration) Preferred Attributes Experience designing and executing experimental test plans in a product development setting Ability to multitask and respond rapidly to shifting priorities while maintaining focus on long‑term objectives Background in an applied engineering role at a consumer product or consulting firm Familiarity with electronics (analog/digital), test equipment, and small‑appliance components such as sensors, motors, heaters, and PCBAs Salary and Other Compensation Pay Range: $81,700 – $140,000 USD Benefits include medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts with company contribution, 401(k) with matching, employee stock purchase program, life insurance, AD&D, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, generous paid time off, company holidays, parental leave, identity theft protection, pet insurance, pre‑paid legal insurance, backup child and eldercare days, product discounts, referral bonuses, and more.
