Civil Engineer - Senior level

*Remote role*

Duration: 3+ months

This is a remote role but if an occasional meeting is needed then you will need to plan to attend.

Job Skills / Requirements:

• Pick up civil design after the site plan and preliminary earthwork/runoff calculations are complete; develop detailed grading plans, drainage design, and erosion and sediment control (SWPPP) through to issued-for-construction.
• Refine and finalize earthwork quantities, runoff calculations, and stormwater management/detention design at design-development and construction-document level, validating and building on the preliminary calcs.
• Design detailed site utility plans (water, sanitary, fire water, communications duct banks) and resolve civil/utility conflicts during design development.
• Develop and maintain the civil Basis of Design (BOD) per project, applying client's three-pillar compliance framework: AHJ requirements, industry standards (e.g., local drainage criteria manuals, NFPA 24 for fire water), and FM Global data sheets where applicable.
• Coordinate foundation and pad design interfaces with Structural/PEMB engineering for all module types (DG-01, U-01, E-01/E-02, M-01-M-04, WS-01) to confirm bearing, settlement, and site preparation requirements are met.
• Manage civil submittals and engineering review cycles in Bluebeam Studio and ACC/Forma, tracking comment resolution (CRD) and revision control per client's document control standards.
• Support AHJ coordination and permitting for civil scope — site plan approval, stormwater permits, floodplain development permits, and utility tie-in approvals — partnering with the Development/Permitting PM.
• Support module delivery sequencing by confirming site readiness (pad completion, utility stub-outs, access roads) against the project schedule in coordination with Scheduling and Project Controls.
• Participate in cross-discipline design reviews, RFI resolution, and field engineering support during construction, including civil punch list and as-built closeout.
• Maintain and improve client's civil design standards, CAD/Civil 3D standards, and BOD templates as the portfolio scales.
