Reusable Packaging Ambassador

Location: Half Moon Bay, CA Schedule: 6 hours per week Duration: 6 months

About the Role

Client is piloting reusable packaging in Half Moon Bay to help reduce packaging waste associated with food delivery. Were looking for a Reusable Packaging Ambassador to support this local pilot through merchant outreach, consumer engagement, community awareness, and on-the-ground program support.

This is a highly people-focused role for someone who enjoys connecting with local businesses, consumers, and community organizations.

What Youll Do

• Recruit local restaurant partners to participate in the reusable packaging pilot.
• Pitch the program to restaurant owners and operators and support them through enrollment.
• Provide merchant onboarding and training, including demonstrating sample packaging inventory and the packaging ordering portal.
• Help restaurants promote reusable packaging through the client's app, in-store signage, and other marketing materials.
• Distribute handouts and marketing materials to increase local awareness of the program.
• Engage directly with local consumers and community groups at events such as farmers markets, beach cleanups, and other community activities.
• Monitor reusable packaging return points and help identify and escalate operational issues.
• Gather feedback from merchants and consumers to help improve the pilot experience.
• Support day-to-day pilot operations and other community engagement initiatives as needed.

What Were Looking For

• Located within driving distance of Half Moon Bay, CA.
• Available to contribute approximately 6 hours per week for 6 months.
• 25 years of experience in sales, customer service, marketing, community engagement, or a related field.
• Experience supporting pilot programs and/or community engagement campaigns.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to approach and engage restaurant owners, consumers, and community members.
• Comfortable working independently in a field-based, community-facing environment.
• Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple activities with minimal supervision.
• Valid drivers license and reliable ability to travel locally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in or with restaurants, food delivery, hospitality, or local businesses.
• Experience with sustainability, reusable packaging, waste reduction, or community-based initiatives.
• Experience with merchant onboarding, field sales, grassroots marketing, or event engagement.
