Service Technician I

Department: OperationsJob Summary:The Service Technician will provide hands-on construction support and oversight for the Fleet team. Working both alongside teammates and, often independently, this role is a crucial part of ensuring projects are completed on time, in spec, on budget, and in top condition to exceed customer expectations. The Service Technician reports to the Production Manager.Job Responsibilities:Adhere to Wilmot’s Safety protocols, reporting on malfunctions of equipment and/or safety concerns within Wilmot yard.Perform repairs to mobile trailers and storage containers including framing and basic carpentry, electrical, painting, flooring, plumbing, and all other facets of modular building repairProvide backup for Quality Technician to perform inspections of returned leased buildings to determine repair scope of workProvide backup for reporting on inventory levels of all equipment/tools/parts/VAPS needed for service tasks and for reorder purposesProvide courteous customer service as needed with our internal departmentsEnsure trailers are ready for scheduled delivery dates adhering to Wilmot’s high quality standardsPerform HVAC system checks and maintenance per company guidelines, as qualifiedClean, repair and ensure all modular units are in excellent conditionOther duties as assigned, being that this position description is intended to be a general overview of the role’s responsibilities and the work performedMaintain the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) in the workspace to enhance efficiency and safety.Report on any deficiencies of workspace 5S principles and work with Production Manager to make necessary adjustments.Attend and participate in safety meetings and training sessions.Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to optimize efficiency and safety.Other duties as assigned, being that this position description is intended to be a general overview of the role’s responsibilities and the work performedService Technician Tiers:Service Tech I – 1+ specialty skill demonstratedService Tech II – 2+ specialty skills demonstratedService Tech III – 3+ specialty skilled demonstrated with ability to train other Service TechsService Tech IV – Certified specialty skill, ability to train other Service TechsHigh School diploma or GED requiredMinimum 1-2 years’ experience with hand tools, carpentry knowledge preferredModular construction experience preferredA current valid license and good driving record requiredMust be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, keeping on-taskHave willingness & ability to learn new construction methods and tradesAbility to lift/move 50 lbsBe a true team player with a “can-do” positive attitudeGood communications skills to interact with internal teamAbility to take direction, manage timelines & deadlines, and offer trouble shooting solutions as neededHave a solid work ethic that includes doing the right thing, being reliable, trustworthy and honest #J-18808-Ljbffr WILMOT MODULAR STRUCTURES, INC.
