Overview Roadside Technician Commercial Tires - Joliet, IL at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company . The role is an emergency response tire technician for semi-truck fleets. When a customer has a tire-related failure, a technician is dispatched to the location to repair or change the tire. When not on service calls, technicians may assist with mounting orders, shop cleanliness, and other general duties. Responsibilities Respond to tire-related failures at customer locations to repair or change tires for semi-truck fleets. Perform roadside service as required; when there are no service calls pending, assist with mounting orders, clean and organize the shop, and perform other general duties as needed. Mount orders and support shop operations as needed. Follow OSHA regulations and safety requirements, wear PPE, use tire cages, and adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Participate in a mandatory on-call rotation with after-hours service calls; after-hours calls are paid at double time with a minimum of two hours per call (example: a 45-minute call yields 1 hour 15 minutes of double-time pay). Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred. Previous Commercial Service Tire experience. About the Role: What skills will you learn? Servicing Commercial Tires including dismounting, mounting, and repairing any type of tire. Perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as necessary. Inflating tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements. Compliance with OSHA regulations and safety requirements, including wearing proper PPE, using tire cages, and following all safety policies and procedures.
