Exciting Opportunity for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department!

Job Description:


- Join a dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in our vibrant Emergency Department!
- Coordinate nursing care for patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, across the illness-wellness continuum.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver safe, effective care tailored to individual needs.
- Conduct triage using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) 5-level process to prioritize patient needs.
- Maintain accurate and legally compliant documentation of all nursing care and patient responses.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including providers, peers, and ancillary services, to optimize patient care.
- Effectively manage multiple patient care needs while ensuring timely and quality service delivery.
- Advocate for patients by communicating effectively and utilizing the chain of command when necessary.
- Engage in continuous professional development and education, completing all required trainings and audits.
- Assess and support patient and family knowledge and discharge needs for a smooth transition.
- Monitor life support and technical equipment; administer treatments, medications, and IV fluids as needed.
- Respond to crises calmly and efficiently while directing care collaboratively and delegating appropriately.
- Ensure all supplies and equipment are maintained, organized, and ready for use before shift changes.
- Participate in educational experiences for pre-hospital emergency providers and nursing students.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computerized patient documentation systems.

Qualifications:


- Two-year degree in nursing is required; a four-year degree is preferred.
- Current and valid Wisconsin Registered Nursing license or active Compact Licensure.
- Valid certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC; ATCN preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in emergency nursing.
