Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We look for 15+ years of professional software engineering experience, with substantial background in building internal developer platforms, environment-as-a-service solutions, or large-scale infrastructure orchestration used by thousands of engineers.
• We need demonstrated experience designing composable or virtual environment architectures, including service graph decomposition, selective instantiation, dependency stubbing or virtualization, and traffic isolation patterns that avoid full-clone approaches.
• We require deep expertise in traffic routing for environment isolation, including header-based routing, service mesh traffic control such as Istio or Linkerd, service discovery, and methods that prevent cross-environment contamination at high concurrency.
• We expect production experience running Kubernetes across on-premises and cloud environments, with a strong understanding of namespace isolation, resource scheduling, multi-tenancy, and operational trade-offs across hybrid infrastructure.
• We need hands-on proficiency in Go, Rust, or Java for production-grade platform services, along with strong infrastructure-as-code experience using Terraform and Ansible for repeatable provisioning and configuration management.
• We require proven ability to provision and manage stateful test infrastructure across heterogeneous data stores, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, CockroachDB, Kafka, and DynamoDB.
• We need experience with CI/CD pipeline design and extension, integrating environment lifecycle as a native pipeline capability across Jenkins, Spinnaker, GitHub Actions, or Argo CD.

• We will have you architect the composable virtual environment platform, enabling per-PR and per-developer isolated test sessions that reuse unchanged shared services and instantiate only the components under test, with correct dependency resolution across the service graph.
• We will have you design the traffic routing and isolation layer so requests reach the correct service version within a virtual environment session, using header-based routing, service mesh capabilities, and service discovery without cross-session contamination.
• We will have you build the dependency graph intelligence that determines which services should be instantiated live, reused from baseline, or virtualized or stubbed for each test scenario, making composable environments workable at 1,000+ service scale.
• We will have you deliver a self-service developer experience through CLI, API, and developer portal integration so teams can declare environment needs, provision in minutes, run integration tests, and exit without relying on shared environments or manual coordination.
• We will have you define and implement data strategies for composable environments, including synthetic data generation, production data masking, snapshot and restore workflows, schema versioning, and repeatable dataset management across heterogeneous data stores.
• We will have you implement lifecycle management, cost governance, and resource reclamation, including time-to-live policies, idle detection, automatic teardown, quota management, chargeback attribution, and FinOps reporting across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• We will have you integrate the platform into CI/CD pipelines as a native stage, with environments created on pull request open, tests executed, results reported, and environments destroyed on merge or close, supporting Jenkins, Spinnaker, GitHub Actions, and Argo CD.
• We will have you ensure the platform operates reliably across hybrid infrastructure, including Kubernetes on-premises and EKS, VMs, and managed cloud services, with consistent provisioning semantics, cross-network connectivity, and acceptable spin-up latency.
• We will have you establish platform reliability SLOs, observability, and operational runbooks, measuring time-to-environment, environment success rate, isolation correctness, and developer satisfaction as core product metrics.
• We will have you architect and govern agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows using enterprise-authorized tools within the work environment to improve delivery speed, code quality, and operational outcomes at scale, including AI-assisted PR review, test generation and maintenance, release-readiness checks, incident triage, and root-cause acceleration, while defining guardrails for validation, security, resiliency, and reuse.
• We will have you apply knowledge of tools within the software development lifecycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value realized by automation at scale.
