Forecasting Analyst

Job PurposeThe Forecast Analyst will be responsible for analyzing forecasting requirements and initiating appropriate forecast trend models for the Aftermarket organization. This position will require close communication with our sales team and your counterparts in Materials to ensure the highest level of success in preparing accurate forecast models. Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesAnalyze forecast requirements and initiate appropriate forecast trend modelsUnderstanding of the role forecast plays in the MRP processExport daily, weekly, and monthly reports out of SAPWork with sales on promotions, new customer on boarding, and customer forecast reviewsAnalyze and compile data in a professional and easy to read formatProvide a monthly forecast to internal and external suppliersRespond to sales, customer operations, and product planning inquiries in a timely manner.Create ad hoc reports for different business unitsMaintain and recalculate 9 cell data for ABC and safety stock analysisMaintain and calculate slow moving and obsolete inventory reserve calculationsDownload data from customer portals for review of forecast and stocking positionsParticipate in implementation of forecasting systems into other facilitiesCoordinate and review supersessions for historical value updates based on product planning recommendationsIdentify opportunities to align forecast with current market trendsWorking knowledge of MRP codes / settings affect how MRP effects packaged and purchased partsMust be able to learn and explain how different business decisions will affect the various outcomesEducation and QualificationsBachelor degree in business, computer science, or data analytics+5 years demand planning / forecasting experience preferredSAP experience preferredGIB forecast software experience preferredGood working knowledge of material flow and inventory controlKnowledge of ERP, MRP theories and procedures, and Lean Manufacturing preferredKnowledge of concepts and application of materials requirements and inventory planningGeneral understanding of manufacturing activities and shop floor controlUnderstanding of systems functions and transactionsMust have excellent computer skills and thorough knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Power BIMS Access experience preferredPossess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and must be capable of professionally interacting with an international customer baseMust be proactive, detail oriented and have excellent organization, planning and follow-through skills.Committed to tasks and skilled at identifying and solving a variety of problems of broad scope and complexity with little to no supervision
