Patient Care Tech Unit B1 Acute Care For The Elderly

Schedules are available 6 weeks in advance. The work schedule commitment for this position requires the following:

• Must be able to work day shift
• Must be able to work (3) 12-hour shifts in a 6-week schedule with one of those 12-hour shifts being a weekend day.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, Patient Care Tech will provide direct bedside care to patients:

• Performs assigned nursing procedures for the comfort and well-being of the patient
• Maintains appropriate documentation on all assigned patients, including flow sheets
• Maintains advanced knowledge and experience with phlebotomy and lab specimen collection including T&S, Blood Cultures
• Assists physicians with examinations and tests as needed
• Other tasks include respiratory services, and rehabilitation services

To qualify as Patient Care Tech, you must meet the following requirements for consideration:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• One of the following is preferred: PCT or related certification, Certified nursing assistant (CNA), EMT cert preferred
• Minimum of 2 years nursing assistant, PCT or healthcare experience preferred.
• AHA BLS required
